I qualified as a CA with a medium-sized accounting firm where I was fortunate to obtain excellent and extensive all round experience in especially medium and smaller-sized companies. This kindled my interest in smaller firms. After completing my articles I worked in the UK for an audit and accounting firm for 3 years. On returning to South Africa I joined a large corporate firm based in Cape Town. Following a merger which created one of South Africa's largest financial services groups I ended up as the Head of Corporate Finance in Cape Town. After 3 years I joined the banking subsidiary of the Group where I was the Provincial Financial Manager for 7 years. Having had enough of "corporate life" for 10 years I decided to follow my passion (my own business) and return to my accounting roots focussing on smaller and medium-sized firms. I am also an accredited lecturer (University of the Free State) in accounting, economics and finance.
